The biggest ones involve travelling to a nuclear reactor and firing beams of radioactive particles at my materials to figure out how the atoms are arranged inside them! I usually go away for up to a week, and sometimes you get so much data from these experiments it keeps you busy for months afterwards. They’re usually good fun though!
