In a PhD I get a basic stipend to cover living costs, which ends up being about £1200 a month, so I suppose about £40 a day. I also make extra money by helping in undergradute lab classes about once a week.

Since am a PhD student I don’t really get paid, I am given some money (called a stipend) which helps me pay rent, food etc…It is around £1000-1500 per month.
